Overlap Capital is hiring an Operations Manager to oversee the systems, controls, and internal processes that support CapAdvise™ and Overlap Capital’s capital advisory operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the firm operates with clarity, compliance, and consistency as it scales.
You will sit at the intersection of legal structure, financial operations, people management, and lending compliance. This role is not about day-to-day task management—it’s about building and maintaining the operational backbone that allows the company to grow responsibly.
What You’ll Own
- Internal operating procedures and process documentation
- Coordination between legal, accounting, advisory, and platform teams
- Operational readiness as the firm expands into new markets
- Risk awareness and compliance alignment across the business
You are accountable for making sure the firm runs cleanly behind the scenes.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee operational workflows that support capital advisory and platform activities
- Ensure internal processes align with basic lending compliance and ethical standards
- Work with legal advisors to support contracts, disclosures, and operational governance
- Coordinate with accounting to track P&L, expenses, and operational efficiency
- Understand and support tax considerations relevant to advisory and platform operations
- Help leadership interpret financial performance and operational constraints
- Support people management considerations, including role clarity, process accountability, and internal coordination
- Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements as the organization scales
Required Knowledge Areas
This role requires working knowledge—not legal or accounting licensure—across the following areas:
- Legal concepts: contracts, disclosures, entity structure, operational risk
- Accounting concepts: P&L, expense tracking, basic financial reporting
- Tax considerations: high-level understanding of business tax impacts on operations
- People management: process clarity, role alignment, accountability structures
- Lending compliance: awareness of regulatory considerations affecting capital advisory and lending relationships
You must be comfortable working with specialists in these areas and translating their guidance into practical operations.
What This Role Is Not
- Not a legal counsel role
- Not a CPA position
- Not an HR-only role
This is an integration role.
Certification Requirement
All Operations Managers are required to become certified as Business Funding Strategists through Overlap Capital’s Business Funding Strategy Checklist certification program.
This ensures operational decisions align with:
- Capital readiness standards
- Responsible advisory practices
- Consistent firm-wide expectations
Certification is mandatory and part of onboarding.
Who You Are
You’re a strong fit if you:
- Think holistically about how organizations function
- Are comfortable navigating legal, financial, and operational domains
- Value clarity, documentation, and repeatable processes
- Can anticipate operational risks before they become issues
- Communicate effectively across leadership and execution teams
Experience in financial services, advisory firms, fintech, or regulated environments is helpful.
Who This Role Is For
- Operators who enjoy building structure behind growth
- Leaders who can balance speed with responsibility
- Professionals who want to help scale a firm without cutting corners
Who This Role Is Not For
- Candidates seeking a narrow functional role
- Operators uncomfortable with compliance considerations
- Anyone uninterested in long-term organizational health
